An essential base for healthy BARF meals

Muscle meat is the main component of the BARF diet in terms of quantity. For a balanced diet, it should make up around 50% of the animal-based components. In addition to high-quality protein, muscle meat provides your pet with many important nutrients such as phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, and healthy fats, all essential for overall health.

Fat as an essential energy source

Animal fats are the most important energy source for dogs. It is therefore important not to feed only lean meat. An optimal fat content in muscle meat is between 15% and 25%. If the fat content of the muscle meat is below the ideal level, additional fats, such as beef or chicken fat, should be added.

Feeding recommendation

Healthy adult dogs: 80% animal components and 20% plant components. The animal portion is divided into 50% muscle meat, 20% tripe and omasum, 15% offal, and 15% raw meaty bones. The plant portion generally consists of 75% vegetables and 25% fruit.

Divide the total ration into at least two meals per day. Store at -18 °C in the freezer and thaw in the refrigerator for about 12 hours before use. Serve at room temperature.
