Orson almost never made it here. Due to a bite on his former owner's son, his life hung by a thread — euthanasia was considered. But before condemning him, we need to understand what happened: Orson is not a dangerous dog. Orson is a wounded dog. For years, incompetent trainers used coercive methods on him — e-collar, torture device — leaving him with painful hypersensitivity around his neck. That day, the son tried to grab him by the collar. The pain, the fear, the survival instinct. That's all that happened. He came to me as a foster for the Pet's Adopt association, awaiting a new family. Except he never left. Because with some dogs, you quickly realize they're already home. Since then, Orson has relearned to be touched around his neck — patiently, without ever forcing him. He still occasionally has bad reflexes, and I know that, I accept it, I respect it. With other dogs, he remains wary — fear doesn't disappear overnight. But Orson doesn't go unnoticed: when he wants people to know he's there, he makes it known loud and clear. Because deep down, all he ever wanted was to exist.
